Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Richmond County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search feature signals acceptance of every term below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no connection to a local, North Carolina, or federal government office. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or any other decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site points to Richmond County and North Carolina record resources. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site that operates independently of government. It does not hold official files, retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit documents for a user.

Its content directs readers to Richmond County custodians, including the Sheriff and Clerk of Superior Court, along with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Users must not:

  • Interfere with access, performance, or another visitor's use
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system or account
  • Use site content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person using information found here
  • Violate federal, North Carolina, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from the site or a linked tool to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or discriminate against another person. Misuse may also be criminal. This restriction is especially important for the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry, whose official warnings prohibit threats, stalking, intimidation, harassment, and related crimes. Registry access supports lawful community awareness, never vigilantism or discriminatory action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create a consumer report, credit report, or official background check. Our partners' tools are not offered here for FCRA screening. A user therefore may not rely on site content or linked results to:

  • Make any other decision governed by the FCRA
  • Determine access to a license, permit, or public benefit
  • Set insurance terms or assess credit
  • Evaluate a housing applicant
  • Make an employment decision

A legally regulated purpose requires the official process specified by the responsible agency or a service that complies with the FCRA and all other applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed North Carolina attorney can assess how a Richmond County charge, warrant, judgment, or expunction rule applies to a particular matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • A partner search result will be complete or correct
  • The pages contain no defect, error, or security weakness
  • Access will always be available without interruption
  • Information will always be current, accurate, or complete

Charges and case records can be filed, amended, dismissed, restricted, or expunged. Updates may not appear here at once. Nothing published on the site is an official statement from the Richmond County Clerk, Sheriff, NCSBI, or any other public office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government pages, court portals, legal resources, and outside services that we do not operate. We are not responsible for a destination's content, privacy practice, fee, availability, or accuracy. Review its terms before using the service.

8. Intellectual Property

Richmond County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating a derivative work from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from use of the site, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in North Carolina. Government record access remains governed by applicable law, including the North Carolina Public Records Law and G.S. 132-1.4 for criminal investigation records.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or end a user's access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
